For our Sunday worship, we draw on resources from both the United Church and Anglican Church traditions, as well as other approved resources.
St Mary’s is an ecumenical congregation, Anglican and United are our governing churches but we have Lutherans, Methodists and others who call our historic church home.
St Mary’s is a congregation of kind and justice oriented people. We are working on making our community a great place to live!
St Mary’s welcomes and embraces all persons who seek to live faithfully, regardless of sexual orientation, age, gender, racial or ethnic background, differing abilities, economic or cultural background and affirms that all are welcome to become full participants in the life, membership and leadership of the church. Still Mary’s is in the process of becoming an Affirming Congregation.
Rev. Heather Hamlin Gravells is the minister. Heather assumed the role on May 1, 2021. Heather has lived in the area for ten years and is excited to be in ministry with this exciting and dynamic parish. Rev. Michael Shapcott, Executive Director of Sorrento Retreat and Conference Centre is a Deacon and serves as an associate minister at St Mary’s.

Founded in 1963 by visionaries within the Anglican Church of Canada, the Sorrento Retreat and Conference Centre has grown over the years from its beginnings as a lay ministry training centre to its current role as a gathering place for all. We are proud of our Anglican traditions. Ecumenical and interfaith in expression, offering warm and inclusive welcome, and generous hospitality to all.
Throughout the year, we welcome thousands of day visitors and overnight guests for specialized programs offered by our beloved Centre, for a wide variety of events and activities from fibre arts to music to writing, and for those seeking healing and rest and relaxation in one of the most beautiful parts of Canada.
