Sorrento Blind Bay Park (2670 Davidson Rd, Sorrento) includes beautiful views, a perimeter trail, a batting cage, tennis courts, soccer field, basketball court, 3 baseball diamonds, viewing areas, dog-friendly, water spray park, washroom & vault toilet (outhouse), garbage receptacles, playground with state-of-the-art sun shade. *Snowshoe here in winter!

Caen Road Community Park (1255 Dieppe Rd) is a grassy park located in Sorrento. Used as a day use park and swimming area. There is a vault toilet (outhouse) provided. This is also a hand-launch site for boats. Beautiful views of the lake, including Copper Island. *Great for picnicking in summer and winter.

Markwart Road Boat Launch (2888 Markwart Rd) is a year-round boat launch in Sorrento with parking for 11 vehicles and trailers. There is a vault toilet, a garbage receptacle, and a boat dock for temporary moorage while loading and unloading. Overnight parking is not permitted. 

Gillespie Road Community Park (1372 Gillespie Rd) boasts scenic views, a swimming dock, a picnic area, a vault toilet, and garbage receptacles. *This beautiful private spot is a perfect getaway in the summer and winter!

Notch Hill Community Park (1647 Notch Hill Rd) is a day-use park with a hand-crafted wooden train viewing platform. The park shares the site with Notch Hill Hall, one of the oldest community halls in the Shuswap, dating back to 1910, as well as the Notch Hill School (1921) and Notch Hill Church (1906).

History, Arts, and Culture

Shuswap Lake, located in south-central British Columbia, Canada is at the heart of a region known as the Shuswap, noted for its recreational lakeshore communities. The name “Shuswap” is derived from the Shuswap or Secwépemc First Nations people, the most northern of the Interior Salish peoples, whose territory includes the Shuswap.

The village of Sorrento, British Columbia, is an unincorporated settlement located on the south shore of Shuswap Lake in the Southern Interior of the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is located on the Trans-Canada Highway, and is 25 km (16 miles) northeast of the town of Chase and 45 km (28 miles) northwest of the city of Salmon Arm. Sorrento is the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District electoral region.
