It’s Pride Month!

As the vibrant month of June kicks off, marked by the beginning of Pride Month, Sorrento Centre commemerates the the month with a small celebration of inclusivity. Amidst the picturesque backdrop, Hayden, one of the summer youth staff, took the honour of raising the rainbow flag, symbolizing acceptance, love, and unity for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Surrounded by a diverse gathering of the Centre’s members and staff, individuals from all walks of life — including those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community — came together to celebrate the start of this joyous month. The atmosphere buzzed with enthusiasm and an overwhelming sense of unity as the flag fluttered gracefully in the wind. It was an emotional moment.

Small pride pins were joyfully passed around, symbolizing our acceptance and support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Throughout the month, these pins will be proudly worn by the staff of the Sorrento Centre, serving as a small yet powerful symbol of our commitment to inclusivity and celebration of diversity.

Phoebe, the branch manager, stole hearts as she proudly sported an adorable pride pin, adding an extra touch of charm to the festivities.
