Meet Maureen Lovegrove

Quilting — a cherished fixture within the Sorrento Centre community! Maureen Lovegrove’s passion for quilting has woven a tapestry of enduring friendship and creative bliss over the years. What began as a new venue for a quilting retreat has blossomed into a cherished tradition, with Maureen returning to Sorrento Centre for four retreats each year for the past twelve to fifteen years!

In the warm embrace of Sorrento Centre’s atmosphere, Maureen finds solace and kinship with her fellow quilters, as their nimble fingers and shared love for the craft intertwine in joyful harmony. Amidst the hum of sewing machines and the gentle rustle of fabric, lifelong connections are forged, and bonds are strengthened, one stitch at a time.

Embracing the spirit of camaraderie, Maureen, and her friends revel in the joys of quilting, sharing laughter, stories, and the occasional friendly competition. While their quilts beautifully adorn the retreat center, it is the memories they create together that truly leave an indelible mark. As Maureen said, “I love the center, I love the facility and I quite enjoy my group of friends.”
