New affordable housing for South Shuswap
On-line housing forum October 20, 2020.
The South Shuswap Housing Society has launched a development partnership with Habitat Kamloops to build new affordable housing in our beautiful region of British Columbia. The housing society was formed last year as a collaboration amongst the South Shuswap Chamber of Commerce, the Sorrento Centre, the Sorrento Food Bank, St Mary’s Anglican / United Church, the South Shuswap Health Services Society, and others. “Our area has been well-served over the last few decades by the Lion’s Manor affordable housing in Sorrento, but we urgently need more homes to meet the growing housing needs of our region,” says Michael Shapcott, Executive Director of the Sorrento Centre. “Seniors, low-income families, seasonal workers, people who are homeless – these are just a few of the housing needs in our area.”
Everyone is welcome for a free, on-line housing forum for the South Shuswap on Oct. 20, 2020.
