Secwépemc Honour Song

St Mary’s held an honour fire at Sorrento Centre, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Eight people joined in wearing orange and drumming around our fire.
With the invitation to drum and sing the honour song from Chief Rosanne Casimir of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Nation. The Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Nation has shared a video to help people learn the Secwépemc Honour Song to drum and sing at 2:15 p.m. Pacific time on September 30th.
The staff of Sorrento Centre met during this time for quiet reflection after watching a video about “Walking our Spirits Home” produced by the Adams Lake Indian Band.
