Here at the Sorrento Centre, we want to especially thank Karrie, Lori and Jesse – our incredible kitchen team – who have dutifully prepared, day in and day out seven days a week for more than seven months, more than 14,000 breakfasts, lunches and dinners for people in our region who are homeless, hungry and poorly housed. And, of course, we want to thank Kevin, Darlene, Heather, Michael, Cheryl and others who have dutifully driven our delivery van every morning at 7 am to ensure that the tasty and nutritious meals get to the people who need them.
We’re also thankful for the amazing work of Joel and his crew at the McGuire transitional shelter, Dawn and her team at CMHA Shuswap, Jane and Paige and the rest at the Safe Society and so many others in our Shuswap region in British Columbia for their many actions each and every day to bring some practical comfort to people who are on or close to the streets, and to work to end homelessness and ensure homefulness in our region. So many more people to thank… this is just the start!
So many people to thank… so much work to be done. So grateful for all the efforts being made.
