Thanksgiving Work + Study Gathering
A special time for our beloved Centre
Every Thanksgiving weekend, our Associates (the most loyal friends of the Sorrento Centre) gather for an annual time of work and study. Thanksgiving 2020 – with the shadown of COVID-19 – was different than previous years. Our pandemic plan is called “safe, slow and small” and we were able to welcome a smallish group of Associates.
They fanned out across the main campus and farm for many big projects and smaller tasks – everything from restoration of cabana #7 to refreshing of our ornamental gardens to the placement of the final solar panels on the roof of Spes Bona. Katherine Murray led us in a weekend of engagement with contemplative prayer, and Secwepemc story-teller Kenthen Thomas gifted us with stories of great wisdom. Thank you to our Associates who show their love for our beloved Centre in so many practical ways.
